A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to capital improvement projects for the benefit of the sixth representative district.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. The following sums, or so much thereof as shall be sufficient to finance the projects listed in this Act, are hereby appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii for fiscal year 2008-2009.
1. To be expended by the University of Hawaii:
A. Kona community college, Hawaii
Planning for Kona community college student center.
Plans $2,000,000
Total funding $2,000,000
2. To be expended by the department of health:
A. Trauma center, Hawaii
Plans for a trauma center in west Hawaii.
Plans $5,000,000
Total funding $5,000,000
B. Waikoloa community health center, Hawaii
Funds for the center.
Plans $1,000
Design $1,000
Construction $998,000
Total funding $1,000,000
3. To be expended by the Hawaii health systems corporation:
A. Kona community hospital, Hawaii
Expansion of the emergency room.
Plans $1,000,000
Construction $8,000,000
Total funding $9,000,000
4. To be expended by the department of land and natural resources:
A. Old Kona airport beach state park, Hawaii
Clean up costs for the old Kona airport beach state park.
Plans $1,000
Design $1,000
Construction $2,498,000
Total funding $2,500,000
SECTION 2. The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the designated expending agency for the purposes of this Act.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2008.
