A BILL FOR AN ACT
MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE STATE HISTORIC PRESERVATION DIVISION.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $ , or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2007-2008, and the same sum, or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2008-2009, to increase operating and staffing levels for the state historic preservation division to institute effective standards and efficient procedures and to fund the following critical staff positions and projects:
(1) Staff positions
(A) Architectural branch chief $
(B) Grants and contracts manager $
(C) Historic preservation investigator/enforcement officer $
(D) Administrative clerks $
(2) Projects
(A) Technology support (database and geographic information system $
(B) Inventory of historic properties $
(C) Maintenance of state register of
historic places $
The sums appropriated shall be expended by the department of land and natural resources for the purposes of this Act.
SECTION 2. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2007.
