A BILL FOR AN ACT
RELATING TO CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS FOR THE university of hawaii SYSTEM WIDE.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. The director of finance is authorized to issue general obligation bonds in the sum of $634,197,000, or so much thereof as may be necessary, and the same sum, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is appropriated for fiscal year 2007-2008 and fiscal year 2008-2009, to finance the following capital improvement projects for the University of Hawaii:

SECTION 2. The following sum of $2,900,000, or so much thereof as may be necessary to finance the project listed below, is hereby appropriated out of private contributions for fiscal year 2008-2009:

SECTION 3. There is appropriated out of other federal funds of the State of Hawaii the sum of $36,300,000, or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal years 2007-2008 and 2008-2009, for the following capital improvement project:
University of Hawaii at Hilo - U.S. Geological Survey Building, Hawaii
Plans, design, construction, and equipment for the U.S. Geological Survey Building. This project is deemed necessary to qualify for federal aid financing and/or reimbursement:

The sums appropriated shall be expended by the University of Hawaii for the purposes of this Act.
SECTION 4. The appropriations made for the capital improvement projects authorized by sections 1, 2, and 3 of this Act shall not lapse at the end of the fiscal biennium for which the appropriations are made; provided that all moneys from the appropriation unencumbered as of June 30, 2010, shall lapse as of that date.
SECTION 5. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2007.
