A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to the petroleum industry.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Act 78, Session Laws of Hawaii 2006, is amended by amending sections 14 and 15 to read as follows:
"SECTION 14. There is appropriated out of the
general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of [$1,] $500,000,
or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year [2006-2007,] 2007-2008,
to be deposited into the petroleum industry monitoring, analysis, and reporting
special fund.
The sum appropriated shall be expended by the public utilities commission for the purposes of this part.
SECTION 15. There is appropriated out of the
petroleum industry monitoring, analysis, and reporting special fund the sum of
[$1,] $500,000, or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal
year [2006-2007,] 2007-2008, to [establish the petroleum
industry monitoring, analysis, and reporting program established under chapter
486J, Hawaii Revised Statutes.]:
(1) Establish and administer the petroleum monitoring, analysis, and reporting program established under chapter 486J, Hawaii Revised Statutes; and
(2) Establish two full-time staff positions in the public utilities commission to implement and maintain the petroleum monitoring, analysis, and reporting program, including the automated petroleum industry information reporting system established in section 486J-5.5, Hawaii Revised Statutes.
The sum appropriated shall be expended by the public utilities commission for the purposes of this part."
SECTION 2. Statutory material to be repealed is bracketed and stricken. New statutory material is underscored.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2007.
