A BILL FOR AN ACT


 

 

making an appropriation for ATHLETICs in public schools.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $760,000 or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2007-2008 and the same sum or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2008-2009 for 20.0 permanent FTE athletic health care trainer positions in public schools.

     The sums appropriated shall be expended by the department of education for the purposes of this section.

     SECTION 2.  There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $28,000 or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2007-2008 and the same sum or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2008-2009 for a 0.5 permanent FTE athletic director position at Anuenue school.

     The sums appropriated shall be expended by the department of education for the purposes of this section.

     SECTION 3.  There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $600,000 or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2007-2008 and the same sum or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2008-2009 for equipment, supplies, and transportation for school athletic programs.

     The sums appropriated shall be expended by the department of education for the purposes of this section.

     SECTION 4.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2007.
