Description:

Requires the chief election officer to make available for public inspection any voter information developed by the legislature that relates to a proposed constitutional amendment.  The information shall be available at all polling places during voting hours of the general election.

A BILL FOR AN ACT

relating to elections.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

     SECTION 1.  Section 11-2, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by amending subsection (d) to read as follows:

     "(d)  The chief election officer shall be responsible for public education with respect to voter registration and information.  At each polling place for the general election, the chief election officer shall make available for public inspection during voting hours any voter information developed by the legislature that relates to a proposed constitutional amendment."

     SECTION 2.  New statutory material is underscored.

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
