A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to iolani palace.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. The department of accounting and general services shall remove the blacktop, parking area, and parking meters adjacent to Iolani Palace.
SECTION 2. Upon removal of the blacktop, parking area, and parking meters adjacent to Iolani Palace, the department of land and natural resources shall develop and maintain a pedestrian area to replace the existing blacktop, parking area, and parking meters adjacent to Iolani Palace. The pedestrian area shall be composed of grass or other historically appropriate materials.
SECTION 3. There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $ , or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2007-2008, and the same sum, or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2008-2009, for the purposes of this Act.
The sums appropriated shall be expended by the department of accounting and general services for the purposes of this Act.
SECTION 4. There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $ , or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2007-2008, and the same sum, or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2008-2009, for the purposes of this Act.
The sums appropriated shall be expended by the department of land and natural resources for the purposes of this Act.
SECTION 5. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2007.
