A BILL FOR AN ACT


 

 

RELATING TO CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE seventeenth REPRESENTATIVE DISTRICT.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  The director of finance is authorized to issue general obligation bonds in the sum of  $      , or so much thereof as may be necessary, and the same sum, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is appropriated for fiscal year 2007-2008 for the purpose of capital improvement projects for the nineteenth representative district, as follows:

I.   To be expended by the University of Hawaii:

     A.   Kapiolani Community College, Oahu

          (1)  Plans, design, and construction of a culinary arts center.

II.  To be expended by the Department of Transportation:

     A.   Maunalua Bay, Oahu

          (1)  Plans, design, and construction of a commercial loading dock.

     B.   Kalanianaole Highway, Oahu

          (1)  Improvements on Kalanianaole Highway near Lunalilo Home Road, to include installation of double right-turn lanes from Lunalilo Home Road onto Kalanianaole Highway westbound towards town and creation of a dedicated eastbound left turn land (towards Waimanalo) into Koko Marina Center from Kalanianaole Highway.

III. To be expended by the Department of Education:

     A.   Kaiser High School, Oahu

          (1)  Design and construction of girls varsity locker room facilities in compliance with Title IX requirements.

          (2)  New track.

          (1)  Solar powered fans for all classrooms.

(2)  Multi-purpose center between buildings A & C to be used for outdoor activities.

          (1)  Renovations to school.

     SECTION 2.  The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the designated expending agency for the purposes of this Act.

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2007.
