A BILL FOR AN ACT
RELATING TO CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE ninth REPRESENTATIVE DISTRICT.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. The following sums, or so much thereof as shall be sufficient to finance the projects listed in this Act, are hereby appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii for fiscal year 2007-2008.
1. To be expended by the department of education:
Maui high school, Maui
Design, construction, and equipment
for a multipurpose center, improvements to the administration building and courtyard area, ground and site improvements; equipment and appurtenances.

Construction 16,635,915
Equipment 90,000
Total funding $17,807,915
2. To be expended by the University of Hawaii:
Maui community college, Maui
Science building.
Design $ 1,000
Construction 33,430,000
Equipment 3,710,000
Total funding $37,141,000
3. To be expended by the Hawaii health systems corporation:
A. Maui memorial medical center, Maui
Two 3,500 kilowatt generators.
Equipment $ 3,190,000
Total funding $ 3,190,000
B. Maui memorial medical center, Maui
Phase II.
Construction $50,000,000
Total funding $50,000,000
C. Maui memorial medical center, Maui
Exterior building repairs and renovations of hurricane windows.
Construction $ 5,460,000
Total funding $ 5,460,000
D. Maui memorial medical center, Maui
Dialysis unit.
Equipment $ 4,500,000
Total funding $ 4,500,000
E. Maui memorial medical center, Maui
Fire sprinkler and smoke detectors.
Equipment $ 450,000

F. Maui memorial medical center
Boiler upgrade.
Equipment $ 371,000

SECTION 2. The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the designated expending agencies for the purposes of this Act.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2007.
