RELATING TO CHILD PROTECTION. Provides immunity from prosecution for persons leaving an unharmed newborn at a hospital, fire station, or police station, or with emergency medical services personnel, within 72 hours of birth. Provides immunity from liability the hospital, fire station, police station, or personnel who receive the newborn. Requires that the individual leaving the newborn provide written information on the family medical history of the child. Requires personnel to make a reasonable effort to obtain certain information pertaining to the child from the person leaving the child. (HB1830 HD2)

RELATING TO CAREGIVING. Strengthens support of family caregivers by, among other things: extending the joint legislative committee on family caregiving, requiring the executive office on aging to conduct a comprehensive assessment of care recipients' needs and the needs of their family caregivers, and appropriating funds to expand services for care recipients and their family caregivers. (Proposed SD1)

Please indicate to which committee the testimony is being submitted, the date and time of the hearing, and the number of copies needed for submittal. In addition, please provide the testifier's name and mailing address in the email. Email sent to individual offices or any other Senate office will not be accepted.
If you require special assistance or auxiliary aids or services to participate in the public hearing process (i.e., sign language interpreter or wheelchair accessibility), please contact the committee clerk 24 hours prior to the hearing so arrangements can be made.
Public Folder. A folder labeled “Public Folder” containing the measures and testimonies for the hearing will be available for shared use by members of the public.
