     Your Committee on Human Services & Housing, to which was referred S.C.R. No. 220, S.D. 1, entitled:

 

"SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN SERVICES TO CONDUCT A STATEWIDE NEEDS ASSESSMENT OF NON‑CITIZEN VICTIMS OF HUMAN TRAFFICKING,"

 

begs leave to report as follows:

 

     The purpose of this resolution is to request the Department of Human Services to conduct a statewide needs assessment of non-citizen victims of human trafficking.

 

     The Representative of the 38th District and Na Loio – Immigrants and Public Interest Legal Center testified in support of this resolution.  The Department of Human Services opposed this measure.

 

     As affirmed by the record of votes of the members of your Committee on Human Services & Housing that is attached to this report, your Committee concurs with the intent and purpose of S.C.R. No. 220, S.D. 1, and recommends that it be referred to the Committee on Finance.
