A BILL FOR AN ACT

RELATING TO THE UNIVERSITY OF HAWAII.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

     SECTION 1.  Section 304A-105, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by amending subsection (b) to read as follows:

     "(b)  The board of regents, with the exception of section 103D-102(c), shall not be subject to chapter 103D.  However, the board of regents shall develop internal policies and procedures for the procurement of goods, services, and construction, consistent with the goals of public accountability and public procurement practices[, subject to chapter 103D]."

     SECTION 2.  Statutory material to be repealed is bracketed and stricken.  New statutory material is underscored.

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
