A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

RELATING TO JUSTICES AND JUDGES.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  Chapter 601, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to be appropriately designated and to read as follows:

     "§601-    Public disclosure of judicial discipline.  Every disciplinary sanction for serious misconduct imposed by the supreme court upon any state justice or judge along with the findings and recommendations of the commission on judicial conduct, or its successor, shall be publicly disclosed within thirty days of the imposition of such sanction."

     SECTION 2.  New statutory material is underscored.

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect on January 1, 2112.
