HOUSE RESOLUTION

 

 

RECOGNIZING MARCH 2007 AS NATIONAL PROFESSIONAL SOCIAL WORK MONTH.

 

 

 


     WHEREAS, social workers have the right education and experience to guide individuals, families and communities through complex issues and choices, provide them with connections to available resources and are dedicated to improving the society in which we live; and

 

     WHEREAS, social workers are positive and compassionate professionals who stand up for others to make sure everyone has access to the same basic rights, protections and opportunities while also helping people help themselves, whenever and wherever they need it most; and

 

     WHEREAS, social workers have been the driving force behind important social movements in the United States and abroad; now, therefore,

 

     BE IT RESOLVED by the House of Representatives of the Twenty-fourth Legislature of the State of Hawaii, Regular Session of 2007, in recognition of professional social workers and their commitment and dedication to individuals, families and communities everywhere through service delivery, research, education and legislative advocacy that March 2007 is National Professional Social Work Month and join the National Association of Social Workers – Hawaii Chapter in celebration and support of social workers and the social work profession.
