HOUSE CONCURRENT

RESOLUTION

 

 

supportING the creation and work of the Maui County Hospital Needs Task Force.

 

 

 


     WHEREAS, the Mayor of Maui County is in the process of convening a Maui County Hospital Needs Task Force whose purpose is to bring together a broad range of knowledgeable and respected doctors, nurses, and community leaders to arrive at a consensus on the hospital needs of Maui County; and

 

     WHEREAS, the task force will be charged with the single task of focusing on the hospital needs of Maui County and will not examine any other issues such as funding, community clinics, long-term care facilities, proposed hospitals, the certificate of need process, existing hospitals, or the State Health Planning and Development Agency; and

 

     WHEREAS, the task force will convene within two weeks of its formation and conclude by June 30, 2007, and submit its findings and recommendations to the Mayor of Maui County and the community; and

 

     WHEREAS, the task force will be examining the hospital needs of Maui County without consideration of outside influences, restrictions, or interests; now, therefore,

 

     BE IT RESOLVED by the House of Representatives of the Twenty-fourth Legislature of the State of Hawaii, Regular Session of 2007, the Senate concurring, that the Legislature supports the creation and work of the Maui County Hospital Needs Task Force; and


     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a certified copy of this Concurrent Resolution be transmitted to the Mayor of Maui County.
