RELATING TO PREVAILING WAGES.

Allows a joint labor-management committee established pursuant to the federal Labor Management Cooperation Act of 1978 to institute an action for injunctive and other relief against an employer that fails to pay its employees the prevailing wage.

RELATING TO VOCATIONAL REHABILITATION.

Allows the director to refer employees who have been deemed unable to return to work in their regular jobs as a result of work injury to receive vocational rehabilitation services.

Allows the State to hire non-citizens and non-residents when necessary to provide services essential to the public interest.

RELATING TO CIVIL SERVICE LAW.

Requires public employees with satisfactory performance in public service to be considered first in filling vacancies.

RELATING TO CIVIL SERVICE EXEMPT EMPLOYEES.

Changes the status of statutorily exempt positions to conform with the annual review of these positions under Act 253, SLH 2000.

RELATING TO THE EMPLOYEES' RETIREMENT SYSTEM.

Enables a member of the Employees' Retirement System who suffers from an incurable debilitating disease to qualify for ordinary disability retirement and to continue working until they are unable to do so.

RELATING TO THE EMPLOYEES' RETIREMENT SYSTEM.

Addresses employees' retirement system's unfunded liability by appropriating funds to lower the unfunded liability and establish a mechanism to channel funds towards paying off the unfunded liability during years of revenue surplus.

RELATING TO VOLUNTARY EMPLOYEES' BENEFICIARY ASSOCIATION TRUSTS.

Clarifies that VEBA trusts can be established by an employee organization for all state and county employees represented by that employee organization.

When faxing, please indicate to whom the testimony is being submitted, the date and time of the hearing, and the required number of copies needed for submittal.
