RELATING TO UNINTERRUPTED MEDICAL TREATMENT FOR WORK-RELATED INJURIES.

Ensures that uninterrupted medical care is provided to an injured worker, even if the injured employee's employer denies further treatment, until the director of labor and industrial relations renders a final decision on the matter.

RELATING TO CONTINUED TEMPORARY TOTAL DISABILITY BENEFITS TO INJURED EMPLOYEES.

Prevents the termination of temporary total disability benefits until the director of labor decides to terminate them.

RELATING TO PROVIDING THE OPPORTUNITY OF LIGHT DUTY WORK TO INJURED EMPLOYEES.

Requires an employer of an injured employee who is cleared to return to light or reduced duty work to provide that level of work to the injured employee.

RELATING TO EMPLOYMENT PRACTICES.

Makes it unlawful for an employer to discharge or otherwise punish an employee for the lawful use of the employee's accrued and available sick leave. Establishes procedures for filing a complaint against an employer who retaliates against an employee for lawfully utilizing sick leave.

RELATING TO EMPLOYMENT SECURITY.

Establishes job security requirements to protect employees when the business for which the employees work is sold or transferred to another employing entity.

RELATING TO EMPLOYER INTIMIDATION.

Prohibits employers from coercing employees into attending employer-sponsored meetings on the employer's religious or political opinions.

RELATING TO MEAL BREAKS.

Requires the provision of rest or meal break periods of at least thirty consecutive minutes for employees who work five or more continuous hours. Clarifies that the employer not be required to compensate the employee for the break. Excludes employers who are subject to a collective bargaining agreement that contains an express provision for employee meal breaks, a common carrier of passengers or a power generating utility, or the operator of a continuously operating facility regulated by an environmental permit.

When faxing, please indicate to whom the testimony is being submitted, the date and time of the hearing, and the required number of copies needed for submittal.
