Clarifies that domiciliary care includes care provided in developmental disabilities domiciliary homes, developmental disabilities adult foster homes, and developmental disabilities apartment complexes. Establishes a minimum level of care payment for type I adult residential care homes, licensed developmental disabilities domiciliary homes, developmental disabilities apartment complexes, and certified adult foster homes. RELATING TO THE HAWAII CHILDREN'S HEALTH CARE PROGRAM. Creates a temporary 3-year Hawaii Children's Health Care Pilot Program where DHS pays half the premiums for health care provided by a mutual benefit society to children aged three months to 18 years who are uninsured continually for six months and ineligible for any other state or federal health care coverage. Persons wishing to testify should submit 30 copies of their testimony to the committee clerk, Room 226, State Capitol, 24 hours prior to the hearing. Please include your name, position/title, organization, measure you are providing your testimony for, and, in the first paragraph, your position on the measure. Please submit your testimony on one side of a 3-hole punched 8-1/2 x 11-inch paper. Testimony may also be faxed if less than 5 pages in length, to the Senate Sergeant-At-Arms Office at 586-6659 or 1-800-586-6659 (toll free for neighbor islands), at least 24 hours prior to the hearing. When faxing, please indicate to whom the testimony is being submitted, the date and time of the hearing, and the required number of copies needed for submittal.
If you require special assistance or auxiliary aids or services to participate in the public hearing process (i.e., sign language interpreter, wheelchair accessibility, or parking designated for the disabled) please contact the committee clerk 24 hours prior to the hearing so arrangements can be made.
