RELATING TO EDUCATION.

Omnibus public charter schools recodification. Creates a new chapter on charter school governance.

RELATING TO EDUCATION.

Requires the department of education to create a commission to establish, implement and maintain a standardized statewide curriculum for each grade level, with adequate course content in order to meet the state performance standards for the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001.

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE COMPREHENSIVE SCHOOL ALIENATION PROGRAM.

Appropriates funds to hire an additional 163.5 FTE secondary school positions for the comprehensive school alienation program.

RELATING TO STUDENTS.

Requires the reduction of the student to teacher ratio for elementary, middle, and high school grades. Appropriates funds for initiatives and for staff needed to support the reduction.
