RELATING TO INCOME TAX DEDUCTIONS. Allows resident individual taxpayers to claim an income tax deduction from gross income of up to $250 per taxable year for eligible school-related expenditures paid by qualifying educators. Applies to expenses incurred after December 31, 2006. |

RELATING TO CORPORATE SPONSORSHIP FOR EDUCATION. Establishes adopt-a-school program with DOE to which corporations would make tax-deductible contributions to fund school repair and maintenance. Establishes permanent task force on corporate donations for education to advise adopt-a-school. |

Testimony may also be faxed if less than 5 pages in length, to the Senate Sergeant-At-Arms Office at 586-6659 or 1-800-586-6659 (toll free for neighbor islands), at least 24 hours prior to the hearing. When faxing, please indicate to whom the testimony is being submitted, the date and time of the hearing, and the required number of copies needed for submittal.
