STAND. COM. REP. NO. 2921

Honolulu, Hawaii

RE: GOV. MSG. NO. 263

Honorable Robert Bunda

President of the Senate

Twenty-Third State Legislature

Regular Session of 2006

State of Hawaii

Sir:

Your Committee on Health, to which was referred Governor's Message No. 263, submitting for study and consideration the nomination of:

State Council on Developmental Disabilities

G.M. No. 263

ELVIRA LEE,

for a term to expire 6-30-2010,

begs leave to report as follows:

Your Committee received testimony in support of ELVIRA LEE from Executive Office on Aging, the State Council on Developmental Disabilities, and one individual. Ms. Lee is a social worker and has been a consultant for the last thirty-five years with the state Department of Human Services, Department of Health, and Executive Office on Aging. Ms. Lee is presently serving on the State Council on Developmental Disabilities and is being nominated for a second term. Her appointment fulfills the requirement for a representative under the Older Americans Act of 1965. Ms. Lee's experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities will enable her to continue to be instrumental in furthering the cause of the Council.

As affirmed by the record of votes of the members of your Committee on Health that is attached to this report, your Committee, after full consideration of the background, experience, and qualifications of the nominee, has found the nominee to be qualified for the position to which nominated and recommends that the Senate advise and consent to the nomination.

Respectfully submitted on behalf of the members of the Committee on Health,
