SENATE CONCURRENT

RESOLUTION

REQUESTING THE AUDITOR TO CONDUCT A STUDY OF PROPOSED MANDATORY HEALTH INSURANCE COVERAGE FOR ALTERNATIVE, COMPLEMENTARY, AND INTEGRATIVE FORMS OF HEALTH CARE SERVICES.

WHEREAS, Senate Bill No.    , is pending in the Regular Session of 2006, and proposes to require health insurance coverage for alternative, complementary, and integrative forms of health care services under chapters 431-10A, 432:1, and 432D-23, Hawaii Revised Statutes; and

WHEREAS, the Auditor is required by section 23-51, Hawaii Revised Statutes, to prepare and submit a report to the legislature that assesses both the social and financial effects of the proposed mandated coverage; now, therefore,

WHEREAS, the availability of alternative, complementary, and integrative forms of health care services will stimulate the development of new and innovative health care delivery systems for the consumer; and

BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the Twenty-third Legislature of the State of Hawaii, Regular Session of 2006, the House of Representatives concurring, that the Auditor is requested to prepare and submit a report to the legislature in accordance with sections 23-51 and 23-52, Hawaii Revised Statutes on Senate Bill No.    ; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the report be submitted at least twenty days before the convening of the Regular Session of 2007; and
