Authorizes the court or the parties to change a parenting plan at any time during the minority of the child without requiring a material change of circumstances. (SD1)

A BILL FOR AN ACT

SECTION 1. Section 571-46.5, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by amending subsection (e) to read as follows:

"(e) The court or the parties may revise and amend the parenting plan [from time to time.] at any time during the minority of the child without a showing of a change in the circumstances of either party or any child of the parties since the entry of any prior parenting plan. The parties may agree to any revisions or amendments to the parenting plan that are consistent with or allowed by any existing custody order; provided that the court must approve any other changes to a parenting plan. The parties shall file the revised parenting plan with the court."

SECTION 2. Statutory material to be repealed is bracketed and stricken. New statutory material is underscored.

SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
