Authorizes parents to amend certain provisions of a parenting plan at any time during the minority of the child without a material change of circumstances. (SB3233 HD1)

A BILL FOR AN ACT

SECTION 1. Section 571-46.5, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by amending subsection (e) to read as follows:

"(e) The [court or the] parties may revise and amend the existing parenting plan [from time to time.] themselves, upon agreement, at any time during the minority of the child without a showing of a change in the circumstances of either party or any child of the parties; provided that the amounts paid for child support and the award of sole or joint legal or physical custody of the child to a particular party shall not be amended by the parties. The parties may file the revised parenting plan with the court."

SECTION 2. Statutory material to be repealed is bracketed and stricken. New statutory material is underscored.

SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
