A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

relating to capital improvement projects for the benefit of THE twenty-second SENATORIAL DISTRICT.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

SECTION 1. The director of finance is authorized to issue general obligation bonds in the sum of $3,765,000 or so much thereof as may be necessary, and the same sum, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is appropriated for fiscal year 2006-2007, for the purpose of capital improvement projects for the twenty-second senatorial district, as follows:

1. Leilehua High School

A. Improvements to football field $2,000,000

B. Baseball park and facilities

Planning $200,000

Construction of baseball park $700,000

Construction of restrooms $400,000

Wiring $200,000

Total funding $3,500,000

2. Waialua High School

Construction of tennis court

Planning $75,000

Processing of donated land $40,000

Processing of the remainder

of the acreage $60,000

Construction $90,000

Total funding $265,000

SECTION 2. The appropriation made for the capital improvement project authorized by this Act shall not lapse at the end of the fiscal year for which the appropriation is made; provided that all moneys from the appropriation unencumbered as of June 30, 2008, shall lapse as of that date.

SECTION 3. The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the department of education for the purposes of this Act.

SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2006.
