A BILL FOR AN ACT
MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE twenty-third SENATORIAL DISTRICT.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. The director of finance is authorized to issue general obligation bonds in the sum of $ , or so much thereof as may be necessary, for fiscal year 2006-2007, for plans, designs, construction, and equipment for the following capital improvements in the twenty-third senatorial district:
1. Waiahole elementary school
Portable classrooms 1 and 2
a. Acoustical ceiling and wall finish asbestos removal. $170,000
B. Classroom renovations. $803,396
C. Telecommunication upgrade. $155,000
2. Kahaluu elementary school
A. Electrical upgrade. $500,000
B. Classroom renovations. $1,172,491
3. Ahuimanu elementary school
A. Electrial upgrade. $500,000
B. Classroom renovations. $1,291,954
C. Expansion of administration building. $1,000,000
4. Heeia elementary school
A. Expansion of parking lot. $250,000
5. Benjamin Parker elementary school
A. School renovation. $1,410,000
B. Reroof buildings B and E, including covered walkways. $308,000
C. Campus replace plaster ceiling. $70,000
6. King intermediate school
A. Cafeteria renovation to include stage for performances. $1,000,000
7. Kahuku elementary school
A. Classroom renovation. $1,157,581
8. Kahuku high and intermediate school
A. Acquisition of land. $1,000,000
B. Environmental studies for acquisition of land. $200,000
C. Title IX compliance girl's athletic locker room. $1,000,000
9. Laie elementary school
A. Complete electrical upgrade. $155,000
10. Hauula elementary school
A. Electrical upgrade. $500,000
11. Kaaawa elementary school
A. Design, construction, and equipment for a new administration building. $9,575,000
B. Electrical upgrade. $500,000
C. Telecommunications upgrade. $150,000
D. Additional parking. $75,000
SECTION 2. The appropriations made for capital improvement projects authorized in this Act shall not lapse at the end of the fiscal biennium for which the appropriation is made; provided that all appropriations which are unencumbered as of June 30, 2009, shall lapse as of that date.
SECTION 3. The sums appropriated shall be expended by the department of education.
SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2006.
