A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

relating to capital improvement projects for the benefit of THE NINTH SENATORIAL DISTRICT.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

SECTION 1. The director of finance is authorized to issue general obligation bonds in the sum of $5,991,000, or so much thereof as may be necessary, and the same sum, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is appropriated for fiscal year 2006-2007, for the purpose of capital improvement projects for the ninth senatorial district, as follows:

1. Kaimuki High School

A. Science Learning Center

Plans, design, and $130,000

construction

B. Restroom facilities on

athletic field

Plans, design, and

construction $333,000

C. Media Center

Plans, design, and construction

of, and equipment for, media

center $4,400,000

Total Funding $4,863,000

2. Lili'uokalani Elementary School

A. Dumbwaiter

Plans, design, equipment,

electrical upgrade, and installation

of dumbwaiter in administration

building $38,000

Total Funding $38,000

3. Jefferson Elementary School

A. Electrical Upgrade for

Building "R"

Plans, design, equipment $300,000

B. Air Conditioning for

Library

Plans, design, electrical

upgrade, and installation

of air conditioning for

library $125,000

C. Playground Accessibility

Plans, design, and installation

of improvements $165,000

Total Funding $590,000

4. Hokulani Elementary School

A. Parking Lot

Paving, fencing, and lighting of

overflow parking lot $100,000

B. Electrical upgrade

Plans, design, and

installation $400,000

Total Funding $500,000

SECTION 2. The appropriation made for the capital improvement project authorized by this Act shall not lapse at the end of the fiscal year for which the appropriation is made; provided that all moneys from the appropriation unencumbered as of June 30, 2008 shall lapse as of that date.

SECTION 3. The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the department of education for the purposes of this Act.

SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2006.
