A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

relating to capital improvement projects for the benefit of THE twenty-first SENATORIAL DISTRICT.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

SECTION 1. The director of finance is authorized to issue general obligation bonds in the sum of $41,273,000, or so much thereof as may be necessary, and the same sum, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is appropriated for fiscal year 2006-2007, for the purpose of capital improvement projects for the eighteenth senatorial district, as follows:

1. Kamaile Elementary School

A. Installation of air

conditioning in 9 portable classrooms, computer lab,

and media room $75,000

B. Removal of Mimosa trees

by the library that are

lifting the sidewalk $4,000

C. Installation of public

announcement system

in cafeteria $4,000

Total funding $83,000

2. Leihoku Elementary School

A. Re-roofing for 2

portable classroom

units $30,000

B Power for ventilators for

cafeteria $70,000

C. Installation of walkway

along outlying classrooms $15,000

Total funding $115,000

3. Maili Elementary School

A. Replace bell system $195,000

B. Resurface parking lot $80,000

C. Leveling of 2 portable

D. Replace air conditioning

4. Makaha Elementary School

SECTION 2. The appropriation made for the capital improvement project authorized by this Act shall not lapse at the end of the fiscal year for which the appropriation is made; provided that all moneys from the appropriation unencumbered as of June 30, 2008 shall lapse as of that date.

SECTION 3. The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in subsections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9 of section 1 of this Act shall be expended by the department of education for the purposes of this Act.

SECTION 4. The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in subsection 10 of section 1 of this Act shall be expended by the department of land and natural resources for the purposes of this Act.

SECTION 5. The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in subsections 11 and 12 of section 1 of this Act shall be expended by the department of Hawaiian homelands for the purposes of this Act.

SECTION 6. The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in subsection 13 of section 1 of this Act shall be expended by the department of health for the purposes of this Act.

SECTION 7. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2006.
