A BILL FOR AN ACT
making an appropriation for a grant-in-aid to the county of kauai for land acquisition and planning for improvements to pouli road, kauai.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $2,000,000, or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2006-2007, as a grant-in-aid to the county of Kauai for the purpose of land acquisition and planning of improvements to extend Pouli road, Kauai, to provide an alternate route from Kuhio highway to the Kapaa by-pass road. This project is deemed necessary to qualify for federal aid financing and reimbursement.
SECTION 2. The sum appropriated shall be expended by the county of Kauai for the purposes of this Act.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2006.
