A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

making an appropriation for librarian positions at waialua library and kahuku public school library.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

SECTION 1. The legislature finds that currently at both Waialua library and Kahuku public school library there are two half-time children's librarian positions. The legislature further finds that the current situations at these libraries necessitate the establishment of two full-time children's librarian positions with full benefits. The purpose of this Act is to create and fund two full-time children's librarian positions at Waialua library and Kahuku public school library.

SECTION 2. There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $43,276.80, or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2006-2007, for the establishment one full-time librarian III position (1.00 FTE) at the Waialua library, and one full-time librarian III position (1.00 FTE) at the Kahuku public school library.

SECTION 3. The sum appropriated shall be expended by the department of education for the purposes of this Act.

SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2006.
