Extends work of school impact fee working group established by Act 246, SLH 2005, one more year to 7/30/07; makes an appropriation. (SB2708 HD1)

A BILL FOR AN ACT

SECTION 1. Section 5 of Act 246, Session Laws of Hawaii 2005, is amended to read as follows:

"SECTION 5. This Act shall take effect [on] upon its approval[,]; provided that section 4 shall take effect July 1, 2005; and provided further that this Act shall be repealed on July 30, [2006.] 2007."

SECTION 2. The school impact fee working group shall submit supplemental findings and recommendations, including any proposed legislation, to the legislature no later than twenty days prior to the convening of the regular session of 2007.

SECTION 3. There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $ or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2006-2007 for the operation of the school impact fee working group.

The sum appropriated shall be expended by the office of the auditor, which shall oversee and administer any consultant contracts as may be executed on behalf of the working group for the purposes of this Act.

SECTION 4. Statutory material to be repealed is bracketed and stricken. New statutory material is underscored.

SECTION 5. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2020, and shall be repealed on July 30, 2007.
