A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

relating to small boat harbors.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

SECTION 1. Section 200-10, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by amending subsection (b) to read as follows:

"(b) In order to obtain a permit or a permit renewal, the owner of a vessel shall provide, at the owner's own expense:

(1) A marine surveyor's inspection no more than two years old, a vessel inspection report no more than two years old completed by an inspector approved by the department, certifying that the surveyor or approved inspector has inspected the vessel and considers it to fulfill the requirements set by the department[;] or a current United States Coast Guard commercial vessel certificate of inspection; and

(2) Documentation that the person is the owner of the vessel. The documentation shall meet requirements established by the department."

SECTION 2. Statutory material to be repealed is bracketed and stricken. New statutory material is underscored.

SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
