A BILL FOR AN ACT
RELATING TO LANDLORD-TENANT CODE.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 2. Section 521-43, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by amending subsection (h) to read as follows:
"(h) Landlords shall provide their general excise tax number to all tenants for the purpose of [filing for] claiming a low-income tax credit[.]; provided that any written rental agreement between a landlord and tenant shall contain the landlord's general excise tax number, which shall be readily identifiable on the first page of the written agreement."
SECTION 2. Statutory material to be repealed is bracketed and stricken. New statutory material is underscored.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
