A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to RESTROOM facilities FOR WOMEN.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. State owned or operated facilities making restrooms available to a large number of the public, such as stadiums, auditoriums, and airports, shall provide at least twice as many water closets for use by females as available to males.
SECTION 2. The director of finance is authorized to issue general obligation bonds in the sum of $___________, or so much thereof as may be necessary, and the same sum, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is appropriated for fiscal year 2006-2007 for the purpose of renovating state owned or operated facilities to come into compliance with this Act.
SECTION 3. For purposes of this Act:
"Facility" means any installation, structure, or building, and include, but are not limited to, public schools, the University of Hawaii system, community colleges, state park restroom facilities, and Aloha Stadium, but does not include facilities are residential in nature.
SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2006.
