A BILL FOR AN ACT
making an appropriation for campbell high school.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. It is the State's duty to provide a proper environment that is conducive to learning for its public school students. The classrooms at James Campbell High School are not equipped with air conditioning systems. During hot days in Ewa Beach, these non-air conditioned classrooms provide unbearable environments for students to learn in, which hinders their academic performances. The purpose of this Act is to provide air conditioning systems for James Campbell High School.
SECTION 2. There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $11,000,000, or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2006-2007, to provide air conditioning systems for James Campbell High School.
The sum appropriated shall be expended by the department of education for the purposes of this Act.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2006.
