A BILL FOR AN ACT
making an appropriation to kokua legal services, inc.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Kokua Legal Services, Inc. provides legal and housing assistance to low-income families, including homeownership technical assistance to public housing residents.
The purpose of this act is to appropriate funds for Kokua Legal Services, Inc. via department of labor and industrial relations' office of community services.
SECTION 2. There is appropriated out of the emergency and budget reserve fund the sum of $ , or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2006-2007, as a grant pursuant to chapter 42F, Hawaii Revised Statutes, for Kokua Legal Services, Inc.
SECTION 3. The sum appropriated shall be expended by the department of labor and industrial relations for the purposes of this Act.
SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2006.
