A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

relating to capital improvement projects for the benefit of THE thirteenth SENATORIAL DISTRICT.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

SECTION 1. The director of finance is authorized to issue general obligation bonds in the sum of $ 24,049,302.00, or so much thereof as may be necessary, and the same sum, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is appropriated for fiscal year 2005-2006, for the purpose of capital improvement projects for the thirteenth senatorial district, as follows:

1. Likelike Elementary School

Grade and lay gravel on upper field $50,000

Automatic sprinklers and ground

improvement for playground in front

yard $10,000

Air conditioning for buildings

A and C $10,000

Total funding $70,000

2. Farrington High School

Sport track improvements $681,924

Dining/multi-use pavilion

Phase I: Concrete slab, drainage system,

CMU perimeter wall and electrical

conduit rough-ins $95,000

Phase II: columns with electrical

outlets, roof with overhead

lighting $155,000

Total funding $931,924

3. Roosevelt High School

Restore funding for auditorium

project $4,000,000

4. Puuhale Elementary School

Construction of covered walkway

between main building and

Replace worn and stained carpet $79,378

13. Keehi Lagoon

Phase I: Dock replacement $1,800,000

Phase II: Water system

replacement $700,000

Total funding $2,500,000

SECTION 2. The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the department of education for the purposes of this Act.

SECTION 3. The appropriation made for the capital improvement project authorized by this Act shall not lapse at the end of the fiscal year for which the appropriation is made; provided that all moneys from the appropriation unencumbered as of June 30, 2006, shall lapse as of that date.

SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2005.
