A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to veterans.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Chapter 325, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to be appropriately designated and to read as follows:
"§325- Hepatitis C; educational materials. The department shall make educational materials available, in written and electronic forms, on the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of hepatitis C, to all veteran, physicians, other health care providers, and other persons at high risk for hepatitis C. The materials shall include the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Unites States Department of Health and Human Services, and any other entity having knowledge on hepatitis C, including the American Liver Foundation."
SECTION 2. There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $ , or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2005-2006, and the same sum, or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2006-2007, for the purposes of this Act.
SECTION 3. The sums appropriated shall be expended by the department of health for the purposes of this Act.
SECTION 4. New statutory material is underscored.
SECTION 5. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2005.
