A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE EIGHTEENTH SENATORIAL DISTRICT.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

SECTION 1. The director of finance is authorized to issue general obligation bonds in the sum of $25,820,000, or so much thereof as may be necessary, for fiscal year 2005-2006, for the following capital improvement projects in the eighteenth senatorial district:

1. August Ahrens Elementary School

A. Upgrade existing electrical capacity with wiring infrastructure to accommodate high technology equipment and operational needs.

Construction $ 1,000,000

Total Funding $ 1,100,000

2. Honowai Elementary School

A. Installation of air conditioning for library.

Design $    25,000

Construction $   174,000

Furniture & equipment $   125,000

Total Funding $   324,000

3. Leeward Community College

A. Second access road to/from Leeward Community College campus.

Design $   500,000

Construction $ 6,500,000

Total Funding $ 7,000,000

B. Plan, design, construction and equipment for a new social science facility.

Plans $   367,000

Design $   944,000

Construction $11,328,000

Equipment $ 1,256,000

Total Funding $13,895,000

4. Manana Elementary School

A. Upgrading buildings K and J into compliance with ADAAG requirements.

Design $   100,000

Construction $ 1,000,000

5. Pearl City Elementary School

A. Extension of library building, ground and site improvements, and equipment and accessories.

Design $   100,000

Construction $ 1,100,000

6. Waipahu Elementary School

A. Upgrade existing electrical capacity and wiring infrastructure to accommodate high technology equipment and operational needs.

B. Replace playground equipment.

7. Waipahu High School

A. Replace fence fronting school.

SECTION 2. The appropriations made for the capital improvement projects authorized in this Act, shall not lapse at the end of the fiscal biennium for which the appropriation is made; provided that all appropriations which are unencumbered as of June 30, 2008, shall lapse as of that date.

SECTION 3. The sum appropriated for the capital improvement projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the department of accounting and general services for the purposes of this Act.

SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2005.
