A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

relating to capital improvement projects for the benefit of THE fourteenth SENATORIAL DISTRICT.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

SECTION 1. The director of finance is authorized to issue general obligation bonds in the sum of $          , or so much thereof as may be necessary, and the same sum, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is appropriated for fiscal year 2005-2006, for the purpose of capital improvement projects for the fourteenth senatorial district, as follows:

1. Kalihi-Waena School

Design and construct twenty paved

parking stalls adjacent to

Building H parking lot $50,000

2. Linapuni Elementary School

Resurface play area $15,000

3. Aiea Intermediate School

Plan, design and construct

school-wide electrical upgrade

to accommodate school needs $650,000

Plan, design and construct

overhang for bus stop area $100,000

Total funding $750,000

4. Red Hill Elementary School

Design and construct air

conditioning for administration

office $165,000

5. Kapalama Elementary School

Design and construct additional

parking in front parking lot;

restriping $150,000

SECTION 2. The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the department of education for the purposes of this Act.

SECTION 3. The appropriation made for the capital improvement project authorized by this Act shall not lapse at the end of the fiscal year for which the appropriation is made; provided that all moneys from the appropriation unencumbered as of June 30, 2006, shall lapse as of that date.

SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2005.
