Appropriates funds for improvements at the University of Hawaii-West Oahu.

A BILL FOR AN ACT

SECTION 1. There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the following amounts or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2005-2006 and fiscal year 2006-2007, for various improvements at the University of Hawaii-West Oahu:

1. New faculty positions for: (3.00) (5.00)

Hawaiian/Pacific, Education, $ 144,000 $ 240,000

and Allied Health programs

2. New Admin/Fiscal Support (1.00) (1.00)

Specialist position $ 35,000 $ 35,000

3. Increase half-time (0.50) (0.50)

Librarian to full-time $ 16,000 $ 16,000

4. New positions for Student (1.00) (2.00)

Services: Clerk-Typist and $ 42,000 $ 72,000

Student Services Specialist

5. Convert temporary School (2.00) (2.00)

Custodian positions to permanent $ -0- $ -0-  

6. On-line subscription service (0.00) (0.00)

For Library Services $ -0- $ 12,000

7. Additional computers and (0.00) (0.00)

Software for instruction $ -0- $ 60,000

SECTION 2. The sums appropriated shall be expended by the University of Hawaii for the purposes of this Act.

SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2005.
