HOUSE RESOLUTION

 

RELATING TO THE CAUCUS LEADERS AND THE COMMITTEE ASSIGNMENTS OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE TWENTY-THIRD LEGISLATURE.

 

 

BE IT RESOLVED by the House of Representatives of the Twenty-third Legislature of the State of Hawaii, Regular Session of 2006, that BEVERLY HARBIN, who has been duly appointed and seated as a member of the House of Representatives from the Twenty-eighth Representative District to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of former Representative Kenneth T. Hiraki, shall be an Assistant Majority Floor Leader and a member of the Water, Land, & Ocean Resources Committee, the Energy & Environmental Protection Committee, the Hawaiian Affairs Committee, the Education Committee, and the Higher Education Committee; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that ANNE V.STEVENS, who has been duly appointed and seated as a member of the House of Representatives from the Twenty-third Representative District to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of former Representative Galen Fox, shall be a Co-Minority Whip and a member of the Labor & Public Employment Committee, the Transportation Committee, and the Finance Committee; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that ROBERT N. HERKES shall: be the Chair of the Consumer Protection & Commerce Committee; no longer be the Chair of the Economic Development & Business Concerns Committee and a member of the Judiciary Committee and the Tourism & Culture Committee; but remain as a Co-Majority Whip and a member of the Agriculture Committee and the Economic Development & Business Concerns Committee; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that JON RIKI KARAMATSU shall: be the Chair of the Economic Development & Business Concerns Committee and a member of the Judiciary Committee and the Consumer Protection & Commerce Committee; no longer be the Vice Chair of the Tourism & Culture Committee and a member of the Finance Committee; but remain as a Co-Majority Whip and a member of the Tourism & Culture Committee and the Agriculture Committee; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that RYAN I. YAMANE shall: be the Vice Chair of the Legislative Management Committee; and remain as an Assistant Majority Floor Leader and a member of the Transportation Committee, the Public Safety & Military Affairs Committee, and the Finance Committee; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that KYLE T. YAMASHITA shall: be the Vice Chair of the Tourism & Culture Committee; no longer be the Vice Chair of the Legislative Management Committee; but remain as an Assistant Majority Floor Leader and a member of the Agriculture Committee, the Economic Development & Business Concerns Committee, and the Finance Committee; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that SCOTT K. SAIKI shall: no longer be a member of the Consumer Protection & Commerce Committee; but remain as the Chair of the Hawaiian Affairs Committee; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that CHRIS HALFORD shall: be Minority Policy/Legislative Management and a member of the Health Committee and the Human Services Committee; no longer be Minority Policy Leader and a member of the Hawaiian Affairs Committee; but remain as a member of the Agriculture Committee, the Housing Committee, and the Legislative Management Committee; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that COLLEEN ROSE MEYER shall: be a member of the Hawaiian Affairs Committee; and remain as the Minority Floor Leader and a member of the Water, Land, & Ocean Resources Committee, the Labor & Public Employment Committee, and the Finance Committee; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that LYNN FINNEGAN shall: no longer be a member of the Health Committee and the Human Services Committee; but remain as the Minority Leader and a member of the Education Committee, the Higher Education Committee, and the Hawaiian Affairs Committee; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that CORINNE W.L. CHING shall: be a Co-Minority Whip; no longer be the Assistant Minority Policy Leader; but remain as a member of the Economic Development & Business Concerns Committee, the Tourism & Culture Committee, the Education Committee, and the Higher Education Committee; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that except as amended by H.R. No. 34 adopted by the House of Representatives of the Twenty-third Legislature of the State of Hawaii, Regular Session of 2005, H.R. No. 1 adopted by the House of Representatives of the Twenty-third Legislature of the State of Hawaii, Special Session of 2005, and by this Resolution, all appointments and committee memberships of the House of Representatives as set forth in H.R. No. 4 adopted by the House of Representatives of the Twenty-third Legislature of the State of Hawaii, Regular Session of 2005, shall remain in full force and effect, it being understood that the names of Kenneth T. Hiraki and Galen Fox, wherever the names appear in H.R. No. 4, are deleted.
