RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, Hawaii enjoys an international and well-deserved reputation as a gathering and meeting place for peoples, cultures, and ideas from around the world; and

WHEREAS, the Hawaii Humanity United Globally program is organizing the Hawaii Youth in Action project to bring 50 youths to Oahu in order for them to seek common ground and learn to understand the differences between the values and traditions of each ethnic and belief group in human-to-human and human-to-earth relations; and

WHEREAS, the House of Representatives supports the encouragement of dialogue and discussion among diverse groups of people; now, therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the House of Representatives of the Twenty-third Legislature of the State of Hawaii, Regular Session of 2006, the Senate concurring, that this body extends its support to the Hawaii Humanity United Globally program for its projects for international peace; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that certified copies of this Concurrent Resolution be transmitted to the Governor and the head of the Hawaii Humanity United Globally program.
