Provides a "fast-track" certification process for foreign health maintenance organizations. (HD1)

A BILL FOR AN ACT

SECTION 1. Chapter 432D, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to be appropriately designated and to read as follows:

"§432D- Foreign health maintenance organization; certification. Notwithstanding section 432D-2 or any law to the contrary, the commissioner may waive the filing of any information required to be filed under section 432D-2(c)(1) to (5), (9), and (10) by a foreign corporation authorized to do business in another state; provided that filing shall not be waived for information pertaining to the requirements for a certificate of authority imposed by this State that are in addition to those of the state or states in which the corporation is authorized to do business and from which state or states the corporation obtains a certificate of good standing."

SECTION 2. New statutory material is underscored.

SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2020.
