A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to the uniform athlete agents act.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. In 2002, the Legislature adopted House Concurrent Resolution No. 75, which requested that the Auditor provide a sunrise analysis in accordance with section 26H-6, Hawaii Revised Statutes, of the regulation of athlete agents. However, the Auditor was unable to complete the study. The purpose of this Act is require the Auditor to perform a sunrise review of the regulation of athlete agents contained in House Bill No. 51, 2005, and to submit findings and recommendations to the 2006 legislature.
SECTION 2. The auditor shall:
(1) Conduct an analysis consistent with that required under section 26H-6, Hawaii Revised Statutes, of the regulation of athlete agents contained in house bill no. 51, 2005; and
(2) Report findings and recommendations to the legislature no later than twenty days prior to the convening of the regular session of 2006.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2005.
