A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF GENERAL OBLIGATION BONDS FOR capital improvement projectS in the thirty-third, thirty-fourth, and thirty-sixth representative districts.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

SECTION 1. The director of finance is authorized to issue general obligation bonds in the sum of $36,796,001, or so much thereof as may be necessary, and the same sum, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is appropriated for fiscal year 2006-2007 for the following capital improvement projects in the thirty-third, thirty-fourth, and thirty-sixth representative districts:

1. Aiea elementary school

A. Development of a master plan for the

eventual air conditioning of the

entire school.

B. Design and construction for covered

walkway between building C and the rest

of the school.

2. Aiea high school

A. Plans, designs and construction for

improvements to address student safety

and traffic safety issues at Aiea

high school.

SECTION 2. The appropriation made for the capital improvement project authorized by this Act shall not lapse at the end of the fiscal biennium for which the appropriation is made; provided that all moneys from the appropriation unencumbered as of June 30, 2008, shall lapse as of that date.

SECTION 3. The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended as follows:

(1) Items 1 through 16 by the department of education; and

(2) Items 17 through 21 by the department of transportation.

SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2006.
