A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to capital improvement projects for the benefit of the university of hawaii at hilo.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. The following sums, or so much thereof as shall be sufficient to finance the projects listed in this Act, are hereby appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii for fiscal year 2006-2007.

Design, construction, and equipment (including ground and site improvements, equipment and appurtenances, and all related costs).

SECTION 2. For all construction and renovation work under this Act, the University of Hawaii at Hilo shall meet or exceed the leadership in energy and environmental design silver rating standards for new construction and major renovation work (LEED-NC) and existing building operations (LEED-EB) established by the United States Green Building Council for developing high performance, sustainable buildings.
SECTION 3. The sums appropriated shall be expended by the University of Hawaii at Hilo for the purpose of this Act.
SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect of July 1, 2006.
