A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to capital improvement projects for the benefit of the thirtieth representative district.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. The following sums, or so much thereof as shall be sufficient to finance the projects listed in this Act, are hereby appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii for fiscal year 2006-2007:
1. To be expended by the department of accounting and general services:
A. Farrington high school, Oahu
Planning, design, demolition, and construction to: demolish existing swimming pool and bleachers that are beyond economical repair; demolish existing locker rooms; and construct an athletic complex that includes girls and boys showers and locker rooms, a weight room, exercise and dance rooms, and classrooms for health and physical education.

B. Dole middle school, Oahu
Design and construct three portable classrooms to accommodate increase in projected enrollment of 120 students for school year 2006 - 2007.

Design and construction to redesign and reconstruct parking area to include pick-up and drop-off area.

2. To be expended by the department of land and natural resources:
A. Kalihi nature park, Oahu
Plans, design, and construction to build a Kalihi nature park on a one hundred-acre parcel in the back of Kalihi valley.

SECTION 2. The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the designated expending agencies for the purposes of this Act.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2006.
