A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to hawaii community development authority.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Chapter 206E, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to part II to be appropriately designated and to read as follows:
"§206E- High technology district. (a) There shall be established, within the Kakaako community development district, a high technology district, comprising of not less than fifty acres, to be located as close to the John A. Burns School of Medicine as practicable.
(b) Permitted uses within the high technology district shall include but not be limited to office and laboratory facilities for persons working or otherwise involved in:
(1) Life and biomedical sciences;
(2) Advanced technology in renewable energy;
(3) Advanced community health programs;
(4) Advanced medical and cancer research; and
(5) Other fields in high technology that advances the standard of living in the State."
SECTION 2. New statutory material is underscored.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
