A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

relating to small boat harbors.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

SECTION 1. Section 200-10, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by amending subsection (b) to read as follows:

"(b) In order to obtain a permit or a permit renewal, the owner of a vessel shall provide, at the owner's own expense:

(1) A marine surveyor's inspection no more than two years old, or a vessel inspection report no more than two years old completed by the United States Coast Guard or an inspector approved by the department, certifying that the surveyor, the United States Coast Guard, or approved inspector has inspected the vessel and considers it to fulfill the requirements set by the department; and

(2) Documentation that the person is the owner of the vessel. The documentation shall meet requirements established by the department."

SECTION 2. New statutory material is underscored.

SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
